Low Back and Hip Pain

Back pain is second only to the common cold as a cause of lost time from work and results in more lost productivity than any other medical condition. It has been estimated to result in 175.8 million days of restricted activity annually in the United States, and at any given time, 2.4 million Americans are disabled secondary to low back pain. Of these 2.4 million Americans, one half are chronically disabled.

LBP is the most expensive, benign condition in industrialized countries.
[7] Experts have estimated that approximately 80% of Americans will experience LBP during their lifetimes.

Because this problem is so common there are numerous good and bad treatments for this condition. There is no “one size fits all” treatment that works for all back pain sufferers. We therefore use a variety of effective treatments based on the patient needs. These treatments include: the use of heat and cold, ultrasound, therapeutic exercise, massage, myofascial mobilization, joint mobilization, muscle energy techniques, strain-counterstrain, stretching, postural and movement correction.
